Default need to know what I would be getting myself into...please help

I found a car that I would be interested in buying and making my project/toy. It is a 2001 honda civic ex that has been highly customized.

Here is a copy of the listing.

"All it needs to be show ready is finishing touches to the body a convertible roof top made and paint. The car has NO ROOF on it. This is a new engine totally built not the orginal engine. The motor cranks and runs but the timing needs to be set and it could use dino tuning to get the most power out of it. The car is perfect for someone to finish off and have a unique custom ride"

I added a few photos of the car. I will be able to make the top myself but my concern is how difficult it is to get the timing set and to do the dyno tuning. I don't care so much about power I just was a car that runs efficiently and has a completely different look.

If someone could let me know what I would need to do to get the car road ready and how much it would cost (typically) I would greatly appreciate it.

    Thanks

Default get over the ricer stuff

I'm not asking you to judge the car...I'm simply asking a question about what it would take to set up the timing or do a dyno tune. I guess I should've left out the photos and just asked the question. Thanks for all the "help" but you can keep driving you wacked out everyday looking hondas that look exactly the way they did when you bought em. I know that you will come back with "my car is faster" or some jibberish like that but like I said I care about having something different and turning heads. Thanks again gals

Look don't get ur feelings hurt and understand that if u buy that it's going to cost u an arm and a leg to get I fixed...there's to much to fix on that car that's why the person is selling it because he know he has another 5 grand to get that car done

it seems that the car is solid other than needing a roof fabricated and I can handle that. It seems every car on here has had an engine swap done and this one is no different. I was just wondering how to tune the car and how much someone would charge

jswappedsedan has a j swap in a sedan, definitly not wack, i have a b20 eg and yes it looks stock sorry, but as for setting the timing, very straight forward but I would think that the motor is messed up and owner took car off timing to hide a bad motor, don't waste money dyno'ing a stock single. honestly you will spend more time and money than that car will ever be worth but if you want a bucket then by all means google how to set timing. I would also be worried about structural integrity with that half ass roll bar.

yea 5K might put you in the ball park but you should have expected some harsh judgments.

well over a grand to fab a convert top which will probably never work 100% correctly
fix their shitty bondo job/body work and paint it. plus anyone that built that monstrosity is highly questionable when it comes to their "fully built motor" especially when they spell "dino" just shows they don't know what their talking about.

o yea in the end you will turn heads alright...heads will turn to vomit on the sidewalk...but I appreciate the pics we all need a good laugh now and then. do ur self a favor and fogetaboutit hope that "helps"
