    Default Tranny Swap advice

    ok guys i have a 98 civic, about to do a tranny swap to 5spd and the guy doing it told me around $800 parts and labor and it takes about 2-3 days, its going to be done at a shop but i was wondering if anyone had any problems after they did a 5spd swap or know anybody that has? and do u think its worth it for 800, he also said he's going to use new mounts clutch and some other parts that he wouldnt swap in used also the car is a stock d16y7, let me know what you guys think

    Only problem I have seen with those swaps is if they arent sealed properly where the shift boot is you get alot of heat coming up from under the car..also is he changing your ecu? because that would give you problems as well.. if your auto transmission is running and shifting good my brother is looking for one if you want to sell it before you have it pulled out pm me so he can test it out in the car and u might be able to make some of that money back..lmk

    ill keep that in mind when i look at it when its done and yea hes swapping the ecu as well and the auto transmission is alright but its kinda rough when shifting at certain times, not always, i was told to put some lucas transmission fix in it and itll stop, once i get that problem solved ill let u know because i dont want 2 sell messed up parts
